
Currently the most common types of Ready Meals in the market today are:-
- Add Hot Water type:
- These types are packed in a cup or bowl.
- To cook, just add hot water and wait a few minutes.
Advantage: it is quick to cook and convenient to serve using its own container.
Disadvantage: It cannot add fresh ingredients to boost taste (e.g.: an egg or sea food).
- Boil a few minutes type:
- These types are packed in plastic pouches.
- To cook, first cut and pour contents into cooking utensil – like a metal pan. Bring to boil.
- To serve, either eat out of the metal pan or pour contents into another serving utensil like ceramic bowls etc.
Advantage: it is able to add Fresh Ingredients to enhance taste, because the cooking temperature is at boiling point.
Disadvantage: It is inconvenient. Needs a separate metal container to cook, and yet another container to serve. And the entire cooking process is slow.
